Upgrade your visual branding and facility safety with Mactape’s Custom 3M™ Engineer Grade Prismatic (EGP) Reflective Decals (3430 Series). Representing a major technological leap in engineer-grade reflective materials, the 3430 Series utilizes non-metallized microprismatic optics to replace traditional glass-bead constructions. This results in significantly higher reflectivity, better angularity, and uniform visual brightness across both daytime and nighttime environments.
Ideal for non-critical traffic signs, commercial facility wayfinding, fleet vehicle safety markings, and public utility placards, our custom 3M 3430 decals offer an unmatched balance of high-end optical performance and cost efficiency.

Non-Critical Traffic & Public Wayfinding: Municipal road markers, bike path safety signage, construction zone guides, and pedestrian warnings.
Commercial Vehicle & Special Fleets: Utility truck rear chevrons, commercial trailer side-markings, municipal service fleet badges, and emergency support decals.
Public Utility & Infrastructure Marking: Telecommunication cabinet warning stickers, pipeline tags, and outdoor electrical box markers.
Environmental Notice: Ideal installation temperature is between 18°C and 28°C. Avoid installing in temperatures below 10°C (50°F), extreme direct sunlight, high humidity, or dusty/windy weather conditions.
Assemble the following tools prior to installation:
Spray bottle (filled with clean water + a few drops of dish soap/mild detergent)
Squeegee (rubber or felt-edge)
Clean microfiber towels
Precision utility knife
Heat gun or hairdryer
Substrate Cleaning: Thoroughly degrease and wipe the application panel to remove oil, wax, grime, and dust. Ensure the panel is 100% dry and free of debris.
Wet Lubrication Spray: Lightly mist the target surface with the diluted soap-and-water solution. This prevents the pressure-sensitive adhesive from tacking immediately and allows easy positioning.
Positioning: Peel off the release liner from the 3M 3430 reflective graphic, align it with the mounting area, and lay it flat onto the wet surface.
Squeegee Water Displacement: Using a squeegee with firm, overlapping strokes, sweep outward from the center to the outer edges to evacuate all liquid and air bubbles.
Heat Conformance & Trimming: Gently warm graphic edges or complex curves with a heat gun set to a low temperature to soften the material, press down firmly, and trim any excess film with a utility knife.
Curing Window: Allow the installed decal to cure in a clean environment. Do not wash the vehicle/sign, expose it to rain, or leave it in direct scorching sunlight for 24 hours post-installation to allow the pressure-sensitive adhesive to achieve maximum bond strength.
Phenomenon | Primary Cause | Recommended Solution |
Material Distortion / Reduced Reflection | Forcible pulling or stretching during installation | Do not forcefully stretch the film during squeegeeing, as over-stretching damages the internal microprisms. |
Persistent Air Pockets | Trapped air or incomplete water displacement during squeegeeing | Do not peel or tear the cured decal. Puncture the center of the air bubble with a fine needle tip and squeegee flat. |
Weak Adhesive Tack | Low ambient temperature (<10°C) or residual surface oil | Pre-heat substrate with a heat gun and re-clean surface with Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA). |
