Assemble the following tools prior to installation:
Spray bottle (filled with clean water + a few drops of dish detergent/mild soap)
Squeegee (plastic or felt-edge)
Cleaning cloth / Microfiber towels
Precision utility knife
Heat gun or hairdryer
Surface Cleaning: Thoroughly clean the target vehicle surface to remove grease, dirt, and dust. Ensure the surface is completely dry and free of contaminants before starting.
Wet Lubrication Spray: Lightly mist the application area with the diluted soap-and-water solution. This allows easy positioning and prevents immediate bonding.
Positioning: Peel off the release liner from the 3M DG3 reflective decal, align it with the vehicle body panel, and lay it flat onto the wet surface.
Squeegee Liquid & Air Evacuation: Using a squeegee with firm, overlapping strokes, sweep outward from the center to the edges to push out all liquid and trapped air bubbles.
Edge Trimming & Heat Conformance: Use a hairdryer or heat gun at a low temperature to gently soften the edges and corners, press them down firmly, and trim any excess material using a utility knife.
Curing Window: Allow the installed graphic to cure in a clean environment. Do not wash the vehicle, expose it to rain, or leave it in direct scorching sunlight for 24 hours post-installation to let the adhesive bond completely.
