Assemble the following tools before starting application:
Spray bottle (filled with clean water + a few drops of dish soap/mild detergent)
Squeegee (plastic or felt-edge)
Cleaning microfiber cloths
Utility knife
Heat gun / Hairdryer
Surface Cleaning: Thoroughly clean the application surface to remove grease, road oil, grime, and dust. Ensure the target panel is completely clean and dry before applying liquid.
Wet Lubrication Spray: Lightly spray the target vehicle surface with the diluted soapy water solution. This allows you to reposition the decal easily and prevents immediate aggressive bonding.
Positioning: Peel off the release liner from the 3M 823i reflective graphic, align it with the vehicle body panel, and lay it flat onto the wet surface.
Squeegee Liquid & Air Displacement: Using a squeegee with firm, overlapping strokes, sweep outward from the center to the edges to push out all water and air bubbles.
Edge Trimming & Heat Conformance: Use a heat gun at a low temperature to gently soften the reflective film around tight edges and curves, then squeegee down firmly. Trim any excess material carefully using a utility knife.
Curing Period: Allow the installed graphic to cure in a clean environment. Do not wash the vehicle, expose to rain, or leave in harsh direct sunlight for 24 hours post-installation to let the pressure-sensitive adhesive achieve full bond strength.

Sub-optimal Application Weather | Installation during extreme cold, severe direct sunlight, or high wind | Avoid installing in temperatures below 10°C, direct scorching sun, or dusty environments. |
Over-stretching Film | Forced pulling or stretching during squeegeeing | Do not forcefully pull or stretch the film, as it may distort graphics or cause future delamination. |
Persistent Air Bubbles | Incomplete liquid evacuation during squeegeeing | Do not peel back cured film. Puncture the air pocket with a fine needle tip and squeegee flat. |
