Mackay Labels manufactures engineering-grade wayfinding and directional signage for rail transit and subway systems. Every set is built on genuine 3M cast vinyl, printed with HP Latex eco-friendly high-resolution technology, and finished with the original 3M Scotchcal 8520 matte overlaminate — a standardized, fully traceable process certified for 7-year outdoor performance.
Designed for indoor/outdoor passages, entrances, platforms, tunnels, ventilation shafts and ground-level guidance zones, our signage solves the chronic pain points of public infrastructure: fading, glare, scratching, moisture-driven peeling and frequent short-life rework. It meets the high-standard acceptance requirements of municipal rail-transit projects.
We use 3M high-performance cast vinyl, offering exceptional dimensional stability and very low thermal shrinkage — no bubbling, curling or cracking over long-term use. It delivers excellent resistance to high/low temperature, humidity and salt spray, suiting the damp, enclosed underground environment of metro stations as well as the temperature swings at open-air entrances. It bonds firmly to metal, painted surfaces, glass and wall panels.
Unlike ordinary solvent printing, HP Latex technology delivers high color saturation and accurate color reproduction with no chromatic aberration or bleeding. The ink adheres strongly, resists UV, and produces no pungent odor — compliant with public-space environmental standards. Output is fine and high-definition with sharp text and lines, clearly readable at distance — meeting the HD display needs of metro guidance signage.
Standard-equipped with 3M Scotchcal 8520 professional matte protective overlaminate, a premium cast-grade PVC film with a built-in anti-UV coating. The matte anti-glare design eliminates reflection blind spots under station lighting and strong sunlight, giving excellent visibility in both indoor and outdoor high-light environments. It is also scratch-resistant, waterproof, moisture-proof, acid/alkali corrosion resistant and stain-resistant / easy to clean — daily wiping and passenger friction will not easily damage the graphics, locking in signage quality across the board.
The complete 3M process combination passes professional outdoor weathering tests: 7 years of stable outdoor use without fading, yellowing, hazing or edge lift, with ultra-long service life even in underground damp conditions. This dramatically reduces later maintenance, rework and replacement costs for metro signage, fitting municipal rail-transit long-term O&M standards.
Matte anti-glare — for public passage scenarios. The 3M 8520 matte non-reflective surface eliminates reflection blind spots under station lighting and direct sunlight, ensuring passengers clearly read guidance information and improving passage safety.
Moisture & mold resistant — for underground damp environments. The fully waterproof/moisture-proof process resists the high humidity, poor ventilation and heavy moisture of underground metro spaces — no peeling, no mold, no de-bonding over long-term use.
Durable & easy to maintain — for high-traffic scenarios. The surface resists scratching, tread wear and daily cleaning; it withstands heavy passenger-flow friction and routine cleaning washes while keeping graphics intact.
Stable color — unified engineering visual standard. HP Latex high-definition color output is uniform and consistent, precisely matching a metro VI (visual identity) system so all-station signage keeps the same tone and elevates the overall rail-transit quality.
Compliant & eco-friendly — for public enclosed spaces. Odorless, non-toxic materials and printing processes meet the environmental acceptance norms of enclosed public metro spaces; safe and durable.

We support customization of any size, shape, text, pattern and VI color scheme, and adapt the process plan one-to-one according to the metro project's construction standards, substrate material and usage environment. The entire process uses original 3M materials with traceable production, and we can provide material reports and weathering test data to support engineering project acceptance. Bulk engineering orders receive priority scheduling with stable, controllable lead times.

Engineering support — material traceability documents and weathering test reports for project acceptance.
Q1: Is the 3M material genuine and traceable? Yes. We use genuine 3M cast vinyl and 3M Scotchcal 8520 overlaminate throughout, with a fully traceable production process. Material reports and weathering test data can be provided for engineering acceptance.
Q2: Why matte (8520) rather than gloss overlaminate? Metro stations have strong indoor lighting and direct sunlight at entrances. The 3M 8520 matte surface eliminates reflection blind spots, ensuring passengers can clearly read guidance information — critical for passage safety.
Q3: How long will the signage actually last? The complete 3M process combination is certified for 7-year outdoor durability without fading, yellowing, hazing or edge lift, with even longer service life in underground damp environments.
Q4: Can you match our metro VI / brand colors? Yes. HP Latex high-definition output delivers uniform, accurate color that can be matched to your VI system so all-station signage keeps a consistent tone.
Q5: Do you support bulk engineering orders and acceptance documentation? Yes. We prioritize bulk engineering orders with stable lead times, and supply material reports, weathering test data and traceability documents to support municipal project acceptance.
