3M™ 7605 is a soft white vinyl (PVC) printable label material engineered for diverse labeling applications requiring conformability to irregular and contoured surfaces. Compared to traditional rigid PET label materials commonly found in industrial and automotive sectors, 7605 utilizes a flexible PVC facestock to provide superior flexibility and curvature adaptation alongside excellent outdoor weather resistance. This versatile construction meets the rigorous requirements of permanent tracking and marking systems across both industrial equipment and commercial environments.
Conformable Soft Vinyl Facestock: Features a 3.4 mil (approx. 0.09mm) soft white vinyl composition that molds tightly to wrapped curves, sharp corners, and rivets, entirely eliminating the edge-lifting and flagging issues typical of rigid PET alternatives.
High-Performance 350 Acrylic Adhesive: Built with a 1.8 mil (approx. 0.05mm) layer of 3M™ 350 high-initial-tack acrylic adhesive, delivering permanent structural bonding power onto lightly oiled, powder-coated, and low surface energy (LSE) plastic substrates.
All-Weather Outdoor Durability: Provides exceptional resistance against UV radiation, environmental aging, and weather extremes, ensuring critical tracking graphics do not fade or degrade over extended outdoor lifecycles.
Automotive Chemical & Grease Defense: Highly resistant to aggressive chemicals, machinery oils, and common solvents, ensuring text remains sharp and legible when deployed inside intense automotive engine compartments.
Universal Printing Compatibility: Top-coated to accept diverse print processes, including letterpress, screen printing, thermal transfer, digital printing, inkjet, laser, and dot-matrix methods with stable ink anchorage.
Efficient Automated Processing: Equipped with a 55# dense brown Glassine release liner that supports high-speed industrial die-cutting and clean matrix waste removal, minimizing production scrap.
Wide Thermal Operating Range: Maintains stable physical properties and bonding elasticity across temperatures ranging from -28.89°C up to +60°C.
Tamper-Evident Permanent Bond: Classified as a permanent labeling solution; once applied and cured, the label structure cannot be cleanly removed without visible damage to the material layer.

Industrial Machinery & Control Panels: Affixes securely to rounded machine casings, uneven engine parts, and texturized control interfaces where resistance to grease and high temperatures is necessary.
Outdoor Energy & Infrastructure Infrastructure: Highly recommended for outdoor energy storage units, telecommunication base towers, and power grids exposed to relentless UV sunlight and natural weathering.
Automotive VIN & Component Tracking: Ideal for vehicle VIN code stickers, parts traceability barcoding, and fuel tank warning decals requiring total chemical resistance and rigid adherence to transportation regulations.
Difficult Low Surface Energy Substrates: Delivers immediate, high-strength adhesion to hard-to-bond rough powder coatings and LSE plastics (such as PE or PP housings), expanding labeling possibilities across special industrial polymers.
Substrate Pre-Cleaning: Substrates must be thoroughly clean, dry, and flat. Wipe the targeted bonding area with a 1:1 mixture of Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) and clean water to eliminate surface grease, oils, and dust, and allow the surface to air-dry completely before applying the label.
Pressure Activation: Apply firm and even pressure across the surface using a roller, squeegee, or pressure application tool. This ensures the pressure-sensitive adhesive wets out completely into the substrate pores, preventing micro-bubbles and edge起翘 (flagging).
Ink Adhesion Testing: Before proceeding with large-scale industrial printing runs, execute pilot testing to verify ink anchorage, dry times, and compatibility between your chosen ink system and the PVC facestock top-coat.
Storage Environment: Unused materials must be kept within their original protective packaging. Store in a cool, dry area isolated from excessive temperatures, high humidity, and direct sunlight to safeguard the original tack profile.
